Short Bio

I have done my Bachelor in Computer Science courses from 2006 to 2010 at the Catholic University of Asunción, Paraguay. During the degree, I was fond of the more theoretical courses such as Discrete Mathematics, Theoretical Computer Science and Machine Learning. I have also worked as a Web Developer for the last three years of my undergraduate studies, mainly focusing on PHP/MySQL/JavaScript powered sites.

Afterwards, since 2011, I have worked as a network administrator, and junior researcher at the National University of Asunción, while doing my Computer Engineering thesis and teaching a couple of courses at my Alma mater. The main topic of my research, as a member of the Laboratory of Scientific and Applied Computation – Polytechnic Faculty – National University of Asunción,  were parallel iterative solvers for optimal control problems.

In 2014, I have started my PhD studies at Royal Holloway, University of London in Bioinformatics, where I am under the supervision of Prof. Alberto Paccanaro.

Research Interests

My current line of work lies on systems biology, in particular a systemic disease analysis. In this context, I am also interested in information diffusion on graphs and semantic similarity measures of medical descriptions.
